This project was for a main contractor whose client was the City of York Council. The project involved the overlaying of the existing pitched roof which was made up of a metal structure with roof tiles hanging on a metal mesh. Unusual in design by modern standards, but common after the second world war, at the time of original construction. A Britmet lightweight roof frame system was specified by the client and then installed over the existing roof. To this new structure the Britmet eaves to ridge Pantile 2000 roofing system was installed, along with custom made coated metal capping’s to the parapets. All new Britmet powder coated fascia, soffit and guttering was installed to complete the project.
